8 Yoga Myths and Stereotypes
Hello yogis! I was contemplating what my first blog should be about on my website. I want people to know that yoga is accessible for everyone! There is no body type, age, gender, race or nationality that is excluded from a yoga practice. However, our western society and pop culture may have you thinking otherwise.
I came across this article on Yoga Journal written by Stephanie Snyder that hit the nail right on the head. If you've been contemplating trying yoga but are fearful because you may not fit that stereotypical person that you see on the cover of yoga magazines, books, websites, etc. then this is the perfect article to read. In it, there are 8 common myths about who can do yoga and who can't. From needing to be flexible and thin to the misconception that yoga is a religion and it's only good for stretching. Check it out and let me know what your opinion on the subject is. Enjoy your weekend!
